Virtually the Same
I created a futuristic garment that blurs the boundaries between physical and digital fashion. Virtually the Same is a wearable art piece that exists in both the real world and the metaverse, utilising augmented reality (AR), Web3, and blockchain technology to create a dual-experience garment. This design challenges the perception of what fashion can be in the digital age.
Solution:
I developed a garment that integrates both physical craftsmanship and digital augmentation. The piece exists both as a physical couture garment and as a digital wearable, accessible through augmented reality and Web3 technology.
The design process involved extensive digital sculpting, parametric modelling, and generative design algorithms to create a futuristic aesthetic. The garment’s structure embodies the tension between the organic and the synthetic, reflecting the modern fusion of fashion, technology, and identity.
Result:
Virtually the Same was awarded the Wearable Technology Award at the World of WearableArt Awards, recognising its innovative approach to digital-physical integration. It was featured in the Bizarre Bra section, making a bold statement on the future of hybrid fashion.
This project was a testament to the evolving nature of wearable art and how fashion can exist beyond the physical world. It was an honour to see this concept realised on the WOW stage, showcasing a new frontier in digital wearables.

Second Fitting with Jacinda
The second fitting was brief, but Jacinda came ready for makeup tests plus stage testing. She is such a warm, friendly and down to earth person to engage with and even admitted she was slightly nervous and wanted to make sure she did a good job on stage for all of our work.
Such a sweet woman.
